LOCATION
Penne is located at an equal distance between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso d''Italia, presenting itself as the gateway to the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park through the nature reserve Lago di Penne.
The town is also the main centre of the Vestina area.
Penne is an elegant open air lounge with lovely squares, the bars have tables on the streets , people meet each other drinking a cup of coffe or just walking in the park and along the weekly open market.
There is an hourly bus service to Pescara and a daily bus to Rome. Pescara with its international airport is 30 kilometres, or about 30 minutes by car.
